Meet the Visionary: Beci Mahnken, VTA, CTC, MCC
Founded by Beci Mahnken, MEI-Travel was born out of a love for travel and all things Disney—a love sparked by Beci’s father. Transitioning from a career in Customer Relations Management in tech, Beci saw a need for superior high touch service in travel and created MEI-Travel and its Disney and Theme park specialty division, Mouse Fan Travel®— a company that understands and values your unique travel aspirations.
With the support of her husband Chris, who brought his software and graphic design skills to the table, Beci launched a groundbreaking website. This effort earned a "Best Travel Website" award from Travel Age West in 2000. Although Chris has stepped back from daily operations, his early contributions were pivotal.
Innovation and Expansion
In 2001, we launched a Disney-exclusive website that propelled more than half of our business within its first year. Acknowledged by Travel + Leisure Magazine as a Super A-List Agent for Disney Destinations in 2004, Beci's expertise and excellence were celebrated. Her vision and commitment catapulted us into industry leaders by 2005, establishing MEI-Travel as a stand-alone expert for personalized travel solutions.

Beci has earned prestigious credentials such as Certified Travel Counselor (CTC), Master Cruise Counselor (MCC), and VTA (Verified Travel Agent). Her commitment to excellence in education extends beyond certifications; Beci has served on numerous influential advisory councils, including Royal Caribbean, GTM, Travel Weekly, Disney's EMTAC, and The Travel Institute. Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA)
CLIA is the official trade organization of the cruise industry, and works in partnership with affiliated travel agencies throughout North America to ensure the highest caliber of cruise sales expertise and service for cruise vacationers.
The Travel Institute
Established in 1964, The Travel Institute serves as a community of knowledge and insight for all travel professionals. Through innovative education programs, professional certifications and customized learning solutions, The Institute fulfills its non-profit mission to promote a standard of industry knowledge and excellence. The Travel Institute's programs include the renowned Certified Travel Associate (CTA) and Certified Travel Counselor (CTC) certification programs of which many of us are graduates.
American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA)
ASTA is the world's largest and most influential travel trade association. It's mission is to enhance the professionalism and profitability of members worldwide through effective representation in industry and government affairs, education and training, and by identifying and meeting the needs of the traveling public. ASTA requires members to adhere to a strict code of ethics.
International Airlines Travel Agents Network (IATAN)
